Job Description

ROLE: CARE HOME CHEF
SALARY: £15.00 per/hour
LOCATION: Brackley, Northamptonshire
HOURS: circa 40 hrs/per week
QUALIFICATIONS – Previous experience in a Care Home
REPORTS TO: HOME MANAGER
Coben Healthcare is delighted to support a fantastic Care Home looking to recruit a Chef to join their stunning Residential Nursing Home situated near Brackley, Northamptonshire, where an experienced team of careers offer a fantastic environment for nursing and residential long stay care.
About the role
This home takes pride in delivering delicious, beautifully presented meals that feel like home – from hearty traditional favourites, to flavour packed curries and comforting old school dishes, freshly baked breads and cakes.
With a strong focus on quality and health, this is an opportunity for a chef who wants to make a meaningful difference through their meals.
Lead chef on duty, responsible for kitchen operations during your shift
Prepare fresh, homemade meals with variety and great presentation
Cater to individual dietary needs and preferences with creativity and flair
Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and cleanliness
Work closely with the assistant chef on shift
Coordinate effectively with the assistant who works alternate days to ensure smooth menu planning and consistency
What We’re Looking For
A skilled and creative Chef with a passion for homemade foods
Someone who values consistency, quality and health benefits as much as flavour
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Experience in a care setting is a bonus, but not essential
A positive, warm personality that fits into a dedicated team
Confidence working independently or with the support of an assistant
Education and Qualifications
Food Hygiene Certified – Level 2 – willing to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications
NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering
First Aid Certified
