Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Erdington
Salary: £35,000 – £40,500 per annum
Full UK driving licence (automatic) required
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to join our 3-bedded Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children’s home based in Erdington..
You will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding. You will also complete two office/admin shifts per week to assist with audits, reports, and overall home management.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in overseeing all aspects of the home’s operation
Lead, supervise, and motivate the staff team to deliver outstanding care
Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and staff development
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and company policies
Participate in the on-call rota and complete sleep ins
Requirements
Experience working within a children’s residential care setting (EBD experience desirable)
NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (desirable)
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Proactive and compassionate approach to supporting young people
Full UK driving licence (automatic) – essential
Must have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
