Job Description
Role – Deputy Children’s Manager
Location – Cannock
Salary – Up to £39,000
Hours – 2 days on 4 days off
We are working with a Children’s care compnay with an excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of their children’s residential homes. They are a rapidly expanding organisation who are currently offering a very competitive salary plus benefits including a quality bespoke training package and generous remuneration for sleep-in shifts. They specialise in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect or abuse and may display challenging behaviours.
The main duties of this role include:
To lead the team to deliver high quality care to our young people
To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
To communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
To review the young people’s care plans and other associated documentation
To undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
To attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
To act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
To work with young people using positive support strategies including de-escalation tools and techniques using in-house training (PRICE)
To provide support to the Manager in order to complete day to day tasks
To run the home in the absence of the Manage
To complete on-call duties as and when required
Job Requirements
To provide positive parenting
To have exceptional communication skills
To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
To provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)
Must be prepared to complete Diploma Level 5 Childrens Residential Care
To be open minded, empathetic in a calm and professional manner
To attend meetings etc on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
Essential Requirements
Must have a full manual driving licence
Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
The desire to develop into a Registered Childrens Home Manager
To participate in further continuing professional development support the needs of our young people
To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
To be active member of a progressive and committed team
