Job Description

Role: Clinical Deputy Manager

Location: Northwich, Cheshire

Hours: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: £55,000 per/annum

About the role

As our clients Clinical Deputy, you will work closely with the Home Manager, nurses, and carers to ensure the highest standards of clinical care and governance across the home. You will combine hands-on clinical delivery with leadership duties, helping to maintain a safe, person-centred care environment. You’ll also support staff development, oversee clinical compliance, and contribute to operational management. This is a senior role for an experienced, capable nurse ready to lead with confidence and care.

You may occasionally support other homes in the local area, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

Reports to: Home Manager

Key duties and responsibilities

· Support the Care Home Manager in daily operations and assume delegated duties in their absence.

· Lead and supervise care staff, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care aligned with residents’ care plans.

· Monitor residents’ well-being, adjust care plans, and manage medication.

· Oversee staff performance, training, and development, conducting appraisals and mentoring.

· Act as safeguarding lead in the Manager’s absence, reporting concerns and ensuring compliance with policies.

· Ensure adherence to health, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

· Maintain communication with residents, families, and external professionals.

· Promote a positive work environment and encourage resident social engagement.

Skills and attributes

NMC Registered Nurse (Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disabilities)
Experience as a Clinical Lead or Deputy in a care home
Strong leadership in clinical and care settings
In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and governance
Skilled in wound care, medication, and health assessments
Confident mentor and supervisor
Organised, efficient, and IT literate
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Flexible to support other local homes as required
Education and qualification

NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience
