About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the care home. You will take responsibility for the clinical governance and the running of the service of the home in the absence of the Home Manager, ensuring care delivery meets CQC requirements and aligns with company policies and procedures. Working closely with the Home Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team of nurses, care assistants, and support staff to maintain the highest standards of care and compliance. Your leadership will safeguard the well-being of residents while fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
Assist the Home Manager in overseeing daily operations and step in during their absence.
Lead, mentor, and supervise care home staff to ensure best practice and professional development.
Deliver high-quality, person-centred care tailored to individual needs.
Monitor residents’ well-being, review care plans, and promote independence and choice.
Act as the nominated safeguarding lead when required, ensuring compliance with company and local authority policies.
Maintain regulatory standards including CQC, health and safety, and infection control.
Oversee medication management and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external healthcare professionals.
Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.

What We’re Looking For
Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager or similar leadership role in a care setting.
Strong knowledge of CQC standards and safeguarding procedures.
Ability to identify referral pathway for safeguarding adult/abuse.
Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
A compassionate, person-centred approach to care.
Ability to manage complex situations and maintain compliance across all operational areas.

Education and qualification
NMC registered nurse with relevant experience – essential.
