Job Description

ROLE: Care Home Deputy Manager – Nursing
SALARY:£55,000
LOCATION: Norfolk
HOURS: Full Time

About the role
We are seeking a proactive and professional Deputy Manager to build on the outstanding work already achieved at our clients Downham Market home.
Our Client recently received an excellent PAMs review with over all good, and they are now awaiting their CQC inspection.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical knowledge, a proven track record in the care sector, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.

Reports to: Home Manager

Key duties and responsibilities
Support Management and Leadership: Assist the Care Home Manager in daily operations, step in during absences, and provide leadership to care staff.
Ensure Quality Care Delivery: Oversee person-centred care in line with individual plans, monitor residents’ well-being, adjust care as needed, and manage medication safely.
Safeguarding Responsibilities: Act as safeguarding lead when necessary, identify and report abuse, and ensure compliance with safeguarding policies.
Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise, mentor, appraise, and train staff, maintaining best practice standards and identifying development needs.
Regulatory Compliance and Communication: Maintain accurate records, ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, liaise effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
Skills and attributes
Previous Deputy Home Manager experience.
The ability to engage with the service users to understand their needs in order to provide excellent services of care.
Ability to identify referral pathway for safeguarding adult/abuse.
Good working knowledge of CQC standards.
The ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with external care professionals, families, visitors and staffing team.
Ability to promote ownership of care programs by fully involving service users and their families in developing, agreeing and evaluating care programs within the home.

Education and qualification
NMC registered nurse with relevant experience – essential.

Qualifications
– Management and supervising experience
– Patient care skills
– Anatomy knowledge
– Assisted living and nursing home experience
– Team management and senior care expertise
– Experience in hospice care and ICU settings
– Dementia care and case management proficiency
– Background in care plans development
– Relevant skills in Alzheimer’s care and medication administration
