Job Title: Deputy Manager
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £38,712.18 per annum (dependent on experience), rising to £41,275.26 per annum upon successful completion of the probation period

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in effectively running our residential children’s home. This role involves managing budgets, overseeing staff development, and supporting the well-being and progress of the young people in our care.

Responsibilities include:

Formulating and updating placement plans, risk assessments, and positive handling plans
Providing day-to-day leadership and supervision to the care team
Ensuring the home operates in compliance with Ofsted standards
Promoting a safe and nurturing environment for young people
Working Hours:

46.5 hours per week
Schedule: Three days (09:00–17:00) and one 24-hour shift (08:00–23:00, inclusive of sleep-in shift)
Working days: Monday–Sunday (rotational schedule)
Requirements:

Experience: Minimum two years in a supervisory role within a residential care setting
Qualifications:
Level 4 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce (or equivalent)
Level 5 Diploma in Children’s and Young People Workforce (preferred or willingness to work towards)
Skills & Knowledge:
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people and careers in residential care
Passion for supporting and making a difference in young people’s lives
Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
