Contracted hours: 37.5 Hour Contract

Salary: £35,000 per annum

About the Role

Coben Healthcare is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to support the smooth and effective running of a residential care home on behalf of our client. In this role, you will help lead the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring exceptional standards of care and contributing to the achievement of operational goals.

You will oversee care staff, provide leadership, and step into full management responsibilities during the Home Manager’s absence. You will also support staff training, maintain high-quality care documentation, and ensure excellent communication with residents, families, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Home Manager in the daily running of the home and overall service delivery.
Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to care staff, acting as a role model for high-quality care.
Take responsibility for management duties when the Home Manager is away.
Assist with pre-admission resident assessments to ensure appropriate care planning.
Ensure residents’ care plans and daily records are accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
Maintain positive, effective communication with residents’ families, external professionals, and relevant agencies.
Promote a culture of person-centred care and active involvement of residents and families in care planning.
Uphold compliance with CQC standards and contribute to quality improvement across the service.
Skills & Attributes

Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager (essential).
Strong ability to engage with service users and understand their individual care needs.
Excellent working knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with families, professionals, visitors, and staff.
Skilled in promoting resident ownership of care programmes through collaborative planning and review.
