Job Description

Medical receptionist needed for practice in Leyland
from 24th November for 4 days a week, can do 3 long days
shadow sessions to be done the week before with the existing medical secretary

Key Responsibilities
Managing Referrals: Processing patient referrals using systems like the Electronic Referral System (ERS), including urgent “2-week wait” referrals.
Typing and Documentation: Audio and copy typing of letters, reports, and clinical documents for GPs and other health professionals.
Patient Communication: Handling phone calls and queries from patients, providing updates on referrals, and liaising with hospitals and other agencies.
Database Management: Updating patient records, referral data, and maintaining accurate filing systems.
Administrative Support: Organising GP schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements; managing incoming and outgoing correspondence; and ordering office supplies.
Private Work Handling: Processing requests for private letters, insurance reports, DVLA forms, and invoicing for private services.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with GPs, practice managers, and other staff to ensure efficient workflow and communication.
