Role – Social Worker, Children

Location – Stafford

Salary – Up to £45,000

Hours – 37.5

Role Description:

We are looking for a Social Worker to work with families residing at a brand new service. Under the supervision of the Senior Social Worker, you will carry out family assessments, using the Parent Assess model and as required by the individual care plans.

It is essential that you:

Hold a degree in Social Work, or equivalent Diploma where applicable

Be Social Work England (SWE) registered

Have excellent report writing skills, good verbal communication and the ability to effectively manage your own workload

Have an understanding of the legislation, guidance and minimum standards that underpin family assessment, including the ‘Family Centre Regulations 2002’ and ‘Residential Family Centres, national minimum standards (2013)’

Have the ability to write unbiased, fair and accurate court reports

Be able to effectively work with parents and children

Possess sound knowledge of child development and children’s needs

Role responsibilities:

As the Social Worker, you will:

Undertake direct assessments of families.

Direct and work with a team of family support workers to gather additional assessment information

Work with the service leadership team to co-ordinate/update support plans

Represent the service at panels, conference meetings and legal planning meetings

Attend court as and when required

Ensure the welfare of residents is of paramount concern at all times

Any other duties as reasonably required
